Default Bench Shirts

I see a lot of people in the logs section using bench shirts and I'm not familiar with them at all. What is it about how they're made that allows you to bench heavier?

You should ask this question to the people that are doing the logs and you will probably get a better response.

If you are doing bodybuilding, there is no need for a bench shirt.

Some powerlifters use supportive gear to keep their joints healthy and assure form strictness.

Here is a good article on shirts... Bench Press Shirts

As Dex said - Ask away - that is what those guys are here for!

Bench shirts are a tool used by geared powerlifters to increase their bench press numbers. As far as regular guys in the gym using them, they will protect your shoulders, but the amount of weight added may injure something else.

If you want to bench in a shirt find a powerlifter who uses one have him or her help determine the size you need. Then have them teach you how to use it. I have powerlifted for almost 3 years now and only within the last year have I learned the shirt, because I sought out help. Shirted bench and raw bench have soared to new heights.

They can be help, fun and productive. However, for some they can be a pain and detrimental.

The thing with Bench shirts alot of people over look is the shirt helps keep your technique. It is very difficult to be loose and wabbly in a bench shirt. Another thing is the shirt will help you identify issues with your bench in training. Bench press shirts do not just add pounds as soon as you put one on. You need to train with it and get custom to it. When I train with someone that is brand new to wearing a shirt I dont recomend that they compete for at least six months that is how long it takes just to be fimilar with the shirt and how it works. Also the shirt will give you a lil spring off of the bottom to help get the weight moving. If you are interested in more about shirts you can go to the titan bench shirts website/
