Hi guys,
I ordered PRIME via Bodybuilding .com site 2 weeks back, and it was sent to me 800mg capsules, 120 tablets. Went well felt benefit and so went and ordered some more, only to be told that they can no longer be imported into Australia where I live. Apparent new restrictions, although Prime was still available for sale in australia, although through a "distributer" and filler ingredients added on the label. So I went and sourced a bottle of prime locally in sydney, whilst alot more expensive (over $100 US dollars) a bottle, everything appeared right, until I noticed that the capsules were smaller 600mg. I feel ripped off as anybody would, but would be interested in USP Labs response to : 1) If is is banned from being imported, how can it be sold here, by a distributor? 2) Do you know the reasoning or substance which the Australian Government is blocking? Thanks |

From what we understand, at this point nearly all encapsulated products are illegal to import into Australia due to the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). TGA is Australia's regulatory agency for medical drugs and devices. Due to the current situation with the TGA, any products that are not in powder form are 'risky' to import, and are done at your own risk. Individuals who import capsuled products may get away with it, but distributor and retailers (who order large quantities of product) will not. Products that come encapsulated that are on the TGA's "approved" list should be fine, though. The TGA is making it a challenge for supplement (among other industries) companies as they are distinguishing between 'homeopathic dietary supplements and products that are considered 'pharmaceutical in nature'. The TGA considers products with specific claims to be 'pharmaceutical in nature'. All (encapsulated) dietary supplements are subject to specific process' and approvals prior to being able to be 'legally' sold in Australia. Additionally, the TGA has an 'issue' (for lack of a better term) against herbal/plant extracts. NOW - For your PRIME question. Please see below for proper labeling. 600mg (smaller bottle) should contain 600mg PrimeBlend proprietary blend (Tribulus Aquaticus, Terminalia Chebula). Other ingredients - Dicalcium Phosphate, Gelatin, Magnesium Stearate, Silicon Dioxide, Riboflavin, FD&C Blue #1, and Titanium Dioxide. 800mg (larger bottle) should contain 800mg PrimeBlend proprietary blend (Tribulus Aquaticus, Terminalia Chebula). Other ingredients - Gelatin, Cellulose, Magnesium Stearate.

Yes the TGA sucks.
Would be nice to import stuff without risk of confiscation and/or worse, fines e.t.c. Would also be nice if the sales people down under would not charge an arm and a leg for the products especially since our $ is stronger. Last year I did order from a different manufacturer and this product was sold here in Australia so I thought it was ok to order from US but no the Australian Customs confiscated my items and threatened with charging me for next attempt, felt like a criminal for what, importing something natural that is even sold here in every major supplement store, was not happy. Cheers. |
