Question Intro - request for suggestions

I was researching fatburners on the GNC site today and decided to by Recreate mainly based on the reduced amount of caffeine.

This forum has an amazing amount of information--thanks!

I'm way overweight, but have lost 23 lbs since mid-July. I have a long way to go, but I'd rather do it myself (as compared to WLS).

Diet these days:

At work (8:30) - 3/4 to 1 cup low fat cottage cheese. Apple or grapefruit.
Mid-morning - some type of fibrous carb; peppers, peas (in pod); raw broccoli, etc.
lunch (noonish) - Usually 4-6 oz. lean protein, sara lee 45 calorie and delicious whole grain bread (don't know if it's certified) , mustard and a slice of 2% milk cheese; some type of fibrous carb.
Mid-afternoon - another fibrous carb or fruit (apples & grapefruit are in season now).
Dinner - 6-ish - 4-6 oz. lean protein (tuna, lean beef, chicken, turkey, etc.), some type of complex carb (brown rice, 100 cal. wheat buns, etc., a fibrous carb.
Snack? Usually a 2% milk cheese stick
much water throughout the day.

Weekends (for breakfast) I tend to have steel-cut oats with some flaxseed and/or wheatberries tossed in.

My days tend to be fairly sedentary (but I've been making sure to take stairs between floors or walk up/down the escalators), and I've been hitting the gym 3 nights a week. Right now I'm seeing success doing the circuit machines, followed by free weights and benching (or some time on the treadmill).

I'm thinking the Recreate will be good, but I'm wondering if I should add some AP and increase my carbs.

Any recommendations will be appreciated.

To add - I plan to take RC at 7 a.m. and again at 3. I don't think I'll need more than 2 per day. Also, I'm taking Alli (in case that factors in).

Thanks - K

Welcome and congratulations on achieving that fat loss so far. So, here is the great thing about this place; we won't bullshit you. So with that being said, good job on buying the Recreate and next, drop the Alli cause it really sucks. Your diet is pretty good. It is good that you're hitting the gym. But the main thing really is that you need to get on that treadmill, or bike and just do it for 20 - 40 minutes per day.. whether it is walking, jogging, or whatever.

Cardio + Diet is more important than any supplement for fat loss.

Thanks for your input. -25.9 as of this morning.

Okay, I'll up the cardio.

Just curious - what do you have against Alli? It seems to me that my loss has been more significant/consistent in the 3+ weeks I've been taking it.

Thanks again - K

Of course Alli will help you with fat loss because it stops the absorption of fats. This is not healthy in my opinion, especially if you are eating a balanced diet!

One side effect of Alli is diarrhea-like stools.

You can keep Alli if you want but I do not recommend its use.

At any other point in my life, I would have avoided Alli. But I figured since I was already limiting fats, I'd pick some up. I don't take it with every meal, and yeah I'd like to do it au naturel, but the ability to take a pill and enjoy a cheater meal here and there? Sweet.

I haven't had any of the "treatment effects" (thank God &/or the Aliens).

Again, thanks for the input.

don't forget that you need to be taking in the "good fats" to help provide energy and good fats actually help burn fat. when i first started rc i was around 240lbs. by the time i cycled off 8 weeks later i was 195. i was consuming almost no carbs but i still had a high fat diet mostly from almonds.
