I'll try that tomorrow and let you know how that goes. It's too bad my intrawo drink reacts with the powerfull because I know with the ap it will work great. I'll just stick to the game plan of holding off on the iwo til after I'm in the gym for a little bit

Splitting up my morning pwo to take the ap,pf, and nitrix first then take the no shotgun 15 min later worked awesome. I never thought the ap would work for me before my workouts since I work out first thing. The shotgun does have 20g of protein though. Thanks for the advice. I wouldn't do my morning workouts without ap

I was wondering about my night time dose of pf. I know you can take protein/ carbs either an hour before or after pf. I usually eat dinner about 730 or so. Then my last intake of the night is casein with cla and efa's. Will it affect the way pf helps sleep if I were to take the pf about 830 or 9 and my protein about 10 or 1030. I like to try and space out the 2 last meals of the day and not have to take the pf too late in the evening. My dinner is mostly high in protein, about 40 or 50 g with just enough carbs for the ap 30 to 40g of carbs. If I eat at 8 do you think that I really need the additional protein right before bed.

I like to take PF as the last thing I do before sleep.
I would recommend having your small protein serving 1hr before bed, then taking PF as you go to sleep.
you could try the PF @830, then shake at 10 if you want, I don't think this is optimal tho.
I'm not a fan of eating any closer than 1-1.5hrs prior to bed, no matter what my body comp goals are..I feel the whole 'gotta eat right before bed' mentality is highly overrated and misused..

So do you think a high protein dinner around 8 is enough without adding that last serving of casein after dinner

Default Shotgun

I dont mean to butt in, but uh, I thought you might want to hear this. And Snagency, please give us your thoughts on this as well.

I just finished reading the details on my tub of VPX Shotgun and it advertises a certain action that might be counter productive to Powerfull's GH activation.

It says that it increases insulin by a generous amount, and it does it without carbs. Its supposed to do this by way of Hydrolysated protein found in the ingrediants list. Also the Leucine in it is supposed to release alot of insulin as well.

So even though this product is sans the carbs, it appears to be a massive insulin releaser. So im thinking of spacing out my PF further away from the Shotgun. I hope this doesn add confusion.

if you're going to bed @10p, that would be fine. if closer to 11, you may want to do something different, or at the very least consume some EAA's or BCAA's at bedtime. 3hrs w/o any kind of nutrition prior to bed is a tad bit long IMO.

that is an exaggerated claim IMO.
first, understand that I do not think a hydrolysate should be your source of consumption intraWO. while it's not a horrible thing, I would rather utilize straight BCAA's or EAA's in my workout -- esp if I'm in cutting mode.
now, to the issue of insulin increase..understand that carbs are not the only macro that causes a release of insulin; they're just the biggest cause of insulin secretion..you're body will release insulin in response to any foods you consume.
it will also cause a slight rise when you consume leucine or BCAA's, enough to uptake and transport them to cellular tissue.
IMO, there is no issue to worry about w/ BCAA/EAA ingestion near PF..when you start expanding to hydrolysates, you begin producing higher (albeit not a whole lot) insulin response..as well, you will start pulling blood to the gut to aid in digestion, so this protein can be broken down -- again, not a whole lot w/ this form of protein, but enough for an anal guy like myself to stress on!
