Default Powerfull and Australian Customs

I just went to by Powerfull from the health food shop I normally get it from and was told that there are no supplies because the latest shippment was held up by some problem with Australian customs. Anyone know what is going on and how long this is likely to last.

The new legislation is not exclusive to USPlabs and/or USPlabs PowerFULL.

From what we understand, at this point nearly all encapsulated products are illegal to import into Australia due to the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). TGA is Australia's regulatory agency for medical drugs and devices.

Due to the current situation with the TGA, any products that are not in powder form are 'risky' to import, and are done at your own risk. Individuals who import capsuled products may get away with it, but distributor and retailers (who order large quantities of product) will not. Products that come encapsulated that are on the TGA's "approved" list should be fine, though.

The TGA is making it a challenge for supplement (among other industries) companies as they are distinguishing between 'homeopathic dietary supplements and products that are considered 'pharmaceutical in nature'. The TGA considers products with specific claims to be 'pharmaceutical in nature'. All (encapsulated) dietary supplements are subject to specific process' and approvals prior to being able to be 'legally' sold in Australia.

Additionally, the TGA has an 'issue' (for lack of a better term) against herbal/plant extracts.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the update
I presume USP Labs (or the importer) is applying for approval - any idea how long this will take?
