Im a career firefighter and i am worried about drug testing. I am on Powerfull, Prime, Anabloic pump, Recreate, and Supercissux RX. Now some of these supplements do contain all natural ingredients but when i search the ingredients alot come up with "steroid" properties. i need the down to earth property with an explanation i can explain to my bro's when they see me popping 20 pills a day that im not doping 'roids...
Help? Mike |

pure and simple Mike -- you can't buy steroids from a GNC or other such health nutrition store!
why do you feel the need to justify what supplements you take to anybody? i take @100 pills daily..36 or so are beef liver tabs (6 per meal, 6x a day)..you think I need to justify that to anybody? for your benefit, here is the the official company statement on the product line: “Aside from the Caffeine in Jack3d, none of our ingredients are featured on the NCAA’s Banned Substances List, or WADA’s Prohibited Substances List.” yes, believe it or not, caffeine (too much at one time anyway) is banned for NCAA athletes. so, if anyone gives you any shit about taking legal, safe supplements, simply turn the tables on them about that cup of java they had when they woke up this morning! ![]()

I totally agree. I have guys who are paramedics who argue increased HGH production is not safe and not normal if it isn't your body creating it. Your taking a product that makes your body make more of it and its dangerous. I disagree of course.

ahh..everyone has an opinion my friend.
but, there are educated & knowledgeable opinions, and then there are non-educated opinions. it amazes me that some in the medical field spout off about supplements without any education to their attributes/effects. paramedics aren't the only ones; what's really scary are the practicing doctors who have no clue or education in supplementation or effects thereof, either because of ignorance (lack of knowledge) or, worse yet, simply misdirecting ppl because it doesn't fit into their long-term profitability and stability for their practice..most doctors unfortunately have their own interests (which include the interests of the Big Pharma..obviously if ppl are supplementing on their own, this cuts down on the RX and office visits of the masses).. supplementation will always be a debated topic, once again mainly due to lack of education and misinformation. I encourage everyone to investigate and read multiple sources of information, to come to their own conclusion and form an educated, thoughtful opinion of their own..

it is very true how a recent doctor got me on the whole supplements are bad train. She told me to stop taking my fish oil and GNC Sport Vitapack as it was unnecessary to do so. I tried explaining why i needed it and what my goals were, but it was basically like talking to a brick wall thats screaming at you.... needless to say i never went back to her and walked out. But thank you all for your advice, it has helped me relax and understand more what the properties of the compounds used in the products are and their effects on our bodies

I might suggest talking to a chiropractor for those who want a doctor that is more health and nutrition minded. Granted, some of them may attempt to sell you their own brand vitamins or supplements, but they're probably not going to tell you to quit taking vitamins.
